Australian Resus Council
The Australian Resuscitation Council is a voluntary co-ordinating body which represents all major groups involved in the teaching and practice of resuscitation.
The Australian Resuscitation Council produces Guidelines to meet its objectives in fostering uniformity and simplicity in resuscitation techniques and terminology.
Guidelines are produced after consideration of all available scientific and published material and are only issued after acceptance by all member organisations. These Guidelines can be found on their website.

Infectious disease and appropriate wound care management
The principles of wound care are about defining the wound, identifying any associated factors that may influence the healing process, then selecting the appropriate wound dressing or treatment device to aid the healing process. AUSMED have produced a Wound Care Manual and Guidelines that can assist with the treatment of wounds.

Cervical spine injuries in sports
Cervical spine injuries are fairly common and can range from relatively minor, such as cervical muscle strains, to severe, life-threatening cervical fractures and spinal cord injuries.
Although these cervical spine injuries are most common in athletes who participate in contact and collision sports, such as rugby or American football, they also have been reported in athletes who participate in noncontact sports, such as baseball, gymnastics, and diving.
Journal papers and Australian Resus Council are two good resources for more information around Cervical Spine Injuries and the assessment and management of these.

ILLNESSES
Diabetes Management
Diabetes is a serious condition, however if managed correctly shouldn’t impact sport participation too greatly for an individual with the condition. However it is important that these individuals tell (educate) relevant people in their sporting team such as players, coaches or sports trainers, about their diabetes and teach them of their management plan. Both Diabetes Australia and Sports Dieticians Australia have some great information on Diabetes managements.

It is important for people with epilepsy to tell (educate) relevant people in their sporting team such as players, coaches or sports trainers, about their epilepsy and teach them of their management plan if a seizure happens.
